Exploring the Roots of Science of Mind - Fall 2010

Roots Class

The fall Exploring the Roots of Science of Mind Class, facilitated by Rev. Joanne, ended last week with a fantastic student projects sharing and celebration. We salute Rev. Joanne and the class!

The writings of three people who strongly influenced Ernest Holmes’ thinking were studied: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emma Curtis Hopkins and Thomas Troward.

Comments made by the Students:

“This class deepened my understanding of fundamental spiritual principles. It was very valuable.”

“The class pushed me into the consciousness of my own faith. I will always be blessed for it.”

“Every time I take a Science of Mind class at Our Spiritual Center, my life expands, heart opens more and I deepen my spirituality and faith in Life!”

Practical Mysticism - 2010

The Practical Mysticism class took place between March 4 and May 6, 2010. Joanne Biewald facilitated the class with the help from assistant, Carla McKim. There were ten enthusiastic students. It was an enriching class with a good workbook.

The texts used were: Carolyn Myss’ Entering the Castle: Finding the Inner Path to God and Your Souls Purpose and Joel Goldsmith’s The Foundations of Mysticism.

We explored our individual mysticism by getting in touch with the mystic which indwells each of us. One highlight of the class was when each student gave a report on a mystic or mystical group. The reports introduced subjects from Toaism and I Ching to Reverend Ike!

Here are a couple comments from students:

“Well, it was great fun and now I know we have a lot of practicing to do. Looking forward to the next class. Joanne is a great teacher and has very few dropouts. I am aware that the general public is not quite aware of this, so nice to have our group to discuss things freely and openly. A great support group.” Dee Ray

“Another interesting OSC Class. Joanne puts a lot of thought and care into her classes.”
